In 2019, I left California for the charming coastal town of Charleston, South Carolina – known for its colorful arts and culture, enchanting landscapes, and polished fashion.

Soon after arriving, I attended a wedding in Savannah. I didn’t have anything to transport my dress in, so I did what many women do – placed the dress on top of my luggage… in the back of the car… and hoped for the best. When I got to the hotel, I was worrying about it falling off the hanger, getting run over by the bell cart, and whether I would end up with anything at all to wear to the wedding.

When the bellman arrived to my room, he commented on how gorgeous the dress was, and then looked at me and said:

“You know, parking a Lamborghini or a Ferrari is stressful.
But what really worries me is a dress.”

We laughed, but in that moment, something clicked. Why are the only garment bag options flimsy, unattractive, or designed for a boxy suit?
